An old man with white hair and a walking stick stands before an SS officer. The officer is the infamous Dr. Josef Mengele who casually points to his right…and selection is complete, the man will soon be murdered.

An SS soldier stands by with his beating stick which will make sure the old man moves away to allow the next person to step forward and learn their fate.

It is believed that a trainload of a thousand people could be passed through selection in 30 minutes. A thousand life or death decisions, each lasting 20 seconds.
